Before commemorative anniversary models were commonplace, Patek Philippe celebrated its 150th anniversary in 1989 by releasing a few highly complicated watches with a nod to their incredible past. One of these watches was the Minute Repeater Ref. 3979. This reference, with the simultaneously released 3974, was the brands first automatic minute repeater. To us, THIS is what makes Patek great. Pure elegance and simplicity. Between 1989 and 2002, only about 100 examples were made across all metals. As few as a dozen examples were made in platinum. This platinum Patek Philippe Minute Repeater Ref. 3979 is in impeccable condition and comes with the original box, warranty paper and archive paper noting an original sale date of July 22nd, 1994.
